It's not like I have a lot of time to peruse the internet. I would probably be addicted if I did. But recently, after sitting down and paying about $10,000 in farm bills (yuk) I was left alone in the house. It was eery. All I could hear was the hum of the refrigerator.

Anyone ever plant a seed in your head?

The other day, someone told me three reasons why I should consider being an interpreter for the deaf. I thought they were crazy...but the idea is stuck in my head and won't come out!

We have a budding deaf ministry at our church and I had the pleasure of spending time with six remarkable women (who happen to be deaf or hard of hearing) at a recent women's retreat. My hope and my desire is to get to know these women better.

Anyhow, this recent experience was a complete and total surrender to the Holy Spirit. It was remarkable. Maybe I'm just trying to recapture that beautiful moment. But, maybe, this is where God wants me. This is why he put me here, now, with my own life experiences.

God gives each of us gifts to use. He gave me at least three gifts which I could use if I decided to participate in this ministry.

I am willing to be open to His call. He knows just how much encouragement I need! He will make it happen if it is to be.

Isn't broadband great?

I live in the middle of nowhere, so I depend on a satellite dish on my roof for my "high speed" internet. Needless to say, it is NOT high speed. I guess the signal has to travel MILLIONS of miles into space before it comes back to my little home in Texas.

I'm at the coffee shop right now using their free broadband. It is INCREDIBLE! I can push the "enter" key and get a response right away. Wow. What a great concept.

HOWEVER, I like living on the farm away from the world. I feel a sense of independence and heartiness knowing that we are living in our own little "compound." I don't rely on many others to help out. I know how to use a shotgun if I need to. I can walk out and shoot off the porch if I want. Even our little dogs know who belongs on the place and who doesn't. I would have to trade all that in if I moved to town to get broadband.

So for now, I'll take the slow and expensive internet.

But if anyone has a suggestion on something faster than WILDBLUE - I'm all ears!!!

I prayed for the outcome that I thought was right. Now, it is time for my faith to take over. This is not how I wanted it to turn out, but I have faith that good will come out of this in God's time and not mine.

I love my country. I will continue to exercise all of my rights and freedoms. I will continue to fight for the unborn. I will continue to support and promote the teachings of my Church - especially that marriage is meant for man and woman, and that abortion is murder.

God Bless America
